Both the gay marriage ceremony and the lesbian marriage ceremony are very similar to a heterosexual wedding ceremony.   The only real difference between a same sex marriage ceremony and a heterosexual marriage ceremony is the legal content.   In a traditional marriage ceremony performed for heterosexual, wedding couples, the wedding officiant (also called a minister, priest or pastor in Christian wedding ceremonies) simply omits the reference to the state.   Instead, the wedding officiator will say something like this:   “Because you have spoken vows of love and commitment and exchanged wedding rings, it gives me great pleasure as your wedding officiant to say that you are, indeed, ‘Life Partners in the Eyes of God,”  or ‘Life Partners in Spiritual Marriage,’  or some other similar wording  chosen by wedding couple.   ...11

Here’s what that means:  Because you (bride and groom) have declared yourselves to be husband and wife and because I as a wedding minister, (priest, rabbi, justice of the peace, etc.) have witnessed your declaration of marriage; therefore I as a representative of the state acknowledge that you are indeed husband and wife in a state sanctioned legal marriage.”  ...13b

Gay and lesbian wedding ceremonies and gay and lesbian marriages do not have this legal part.   Legal marriages are still denied to same sex couples for their same sex wedding and their same sex marriage.   Legal sanctions, rights, privileges and responsibilities are denied to gays and lesbians by those who control most governments.  In every other aspect, the gay wedding and lesbian weddings are the same as the heterosexual wedding.    ...13c
